DCS 2024 Synod Invitation Dear Members of the Diocese of the Central States, Trinity Church in Mason, Ohio, is looking forward to welcoming you once again to Greater Cincinnati for our annual synod (October 16-18, 2024). All business meetings and worship services will be held at the church. As you know, we will be conducting an election for diocesan coadjutor during the synod. Delegates must be registered for the synod and present to vote. Details regarding the election are forthcoming. We have reserved a block of rooms at the AC Hotel which is about five minutes away from Trinity Church. Our special room rates for this hotel start at $209 per night. Bring the family! Mason and adjoining West Chester Township are prominent suburbs about 30 minutes north of downtown Cincinnati. There are many restaurants and shops in the area. If you would like to see downtown Cincinnati, I suggest arriving at least a day early. Cincinnati is a beautiful city with many family-oriented venues. We are happy to provide suggestions; let us know if we can help. Also, the Ark Encounter, Williamstown, Kentucky, and the Creation Museum, Petersburg, Kentucky, are about an hour drive from Mason and close to Cincinnati’s airport.
Registration and Banquet The combined cost for the synod and banquet is $155 per person. All fees will be collected during registration check-in. We are not able to accept credit cards, only cash or checks for registration. Checks must be made payable to Trinity REC. The registration table will be open near the bar area at the AC Hotel from 3pm to 7pm on Wednesday October 16, 2024 along with a light hors d’oeuvres reception for registrants. Registration will reopen at Trinity at 8am on Thursday in the narthex. Everyone attending the synod must register in advance using the link to the online form. REGISTER NOW. Please submit all registrations by September 16, 2024. You may register up to two different individuals on a single form. If you need to register more than two people, please submit multiple forms. Transportation: Mason is easily accessible by car. Both Cincinnati/N. Kentucky International (CVG) and Dayton International (DAY) airports are about 45 minutes from the church. Planning Schedule Wednesday, October 16, synod check-in and payment of fees, and welcome reception at AC Hotel begins at 3 pm. Thursday, October 17, late registration at Trinity Church begins at 8am followed by Service of Holy Communion, morning business sessions, luncheon catered by Izzy’s Delicatessen complete with their famous potato cakes in Fellowship Hall, then afternoon sessions. The banquet begins at 6 pm at the AC Hotel. Friday, October 18, final business session followed by closing Eucharist. Noon dismissal. Water, coffee, tea, and lemonade along with light snacks will be available throughout the synod in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity. A synod agenda will be posted on-line and sent to all attending.
