DCS 2022 Synod Invitation

Dear Delegates of the Diocese of the Central States,

All Saints Church in Lynchburg, Virginia is looking forward to welcoming you to Lynchburg for our annual synod (October 19-21, 2022). All business meetings and worship services will be held at New Covenant Schools, and in the newly expanded Marie-MacDonald Chapel.

We have reserved a block of rooms downtown at The Virginian which is about 15 minutes from New Covenant Schools. Our special room rate for this hotel is $169 per night. Registration and Banquet

Registration for the synod is $75.00 per person.

Our Thursday evening banquet will also be at The Virginian's Mary Ball Washington Room and cost will vary with choice of entrée as shown below:

1. Stuffed Chicken Roulade (black forest ham and gruyere Herbed bechamel) $60
2. New York Strip (10 oz. with wild mushroom bordelaise) $70
3. Vegetable Neapolitan (VN, G) (eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, red peppers, baby portabella mushrooms, roasted red pepper coulis) $53.40

All dinners include:
Classic Garden Salad
Haricot Vert Green Beans
Parmesan Scalloped Potatoes
Baked Muffins and La brea rolls
Chocolate Cake (gluten free)

Cash Bar

Freshly brewed Starbucks regular and decaf coffee, two types of Tazo tea, lemon, half & half or almond milk, and assorted sweeteners including honey.

Total cost for the synod including the banquet is $135.00, $145.00 or $128.40 per person, depending on choice of banquet entrée. All fees will be collected during check-in. We are not able to accept credit cards. Only cash or checks are acceptable. Checks must be made payable to All Saints Church.

Everyone attending the synod must register in advance. Please use the following web-form to register: REGISTER NOW. Please have all registration information submitted by September 14, 2022. This is necessary for planning. Using the on-line form helps ensure the transmission of the necessary information and facilitates accurate name/ID tags. You may register up to two different individuals on a single form. If you need to register more than two people, please submit multiple forms.

Bring the family! The City of Lynchburg has undergone a beautiful renovation of the downtown area where the Virginian is located. There are lovely shops, numerous restaurants and a scenic riverwalk. We would be happy to point out our favorite spots!

Planning Schedule:

Wednesday, 10/19/2022, 5:00 to 8:00 PM: Synod check-in and payment of fees at The Virginian with fellowship from at 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Mary Ball Washington Room.

Thursday, 10/20/2022, 8:00 AM: Late registration at New Covenant Schools. Service of Holy Communion, morning business sessions, luncheon, afternoon sessions, followed by the banquet at The Virginian at 7:00 PM.

Friday, 10/21/2022: Final business session followed by closing Eucharist, times TBA. Noon dsmissal.
